Reviews, develops, recommends &/or implements effective control mechanisms for assigned finance related processes in order to minimize financial risk & identify control weaknesses.
Monitors & reports ongoing compliance of key operations (duty & taxes, customs penalties, Sales commission schemes, pricing etc) ensuring the Team continually adheres to P&P,
Uses effective audit tools, compliance tests, cash control procedures etc to ensure integrity of results. Involves working with relevant areas to analyse & resolve issues.
Prepares & provides on time & accurate statutory & fiscal reporting for all business entities in one or more countries.
Reporting is complex & needs to take account of regulatory requirements for one or more countries, and of US GAAP.
Provides interpretation of results to Senior Finance Management.
Develops and implements legal and practical solutions to complex tax related issues (corporate tax, VAT etc.)
Supports the Company’s position/stance by representing FedEx on specific types of financial matters in external business discussions/negotiations (e.g. unions, auditors, tax specialists, pensions advisors etc) & in appropriate high level Customer events.
Uses expertise to promote FedEx requirements, influence decisions & gain commitment to actions that are in the best interest of FedEx, its Customers & the community.
Reviews & approves all new local country vendor contracts, contract renewals (property & aircraft leases, GSP contracts etc) ensuring stability of potential vendors & that there is no potential negative impact/risk resulting from the contractual terms.
Ongoing procedures ensures periodic reviews of all existing contracts to ensure financial compliance of vendors, initiating corrective actions as needed
Manages an annual expense budget (salaries, training, travel & entertainment) to ensure ongoing costs are reviewed and controlled and remain within agreed budget parameters.
Limits financial risk/exposure by representing Finance in significant business initiatives (new facilities, locations, new country openings etc).
Ensures that financial controls & processes are established that correctly incorporate all relevant statutory & fiscal obligations (set up payroll, banking, contracts etc).
Advises local management on processes, procedures & requirements.
CA / MBA ( Finance ) with 6 – 8 years experience.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, Good presentation skills with experience of presenting to Management audiences
Excellent judgments & decision making skills
Good understanding of key FP&A processes eg capital approval, business planning, profitability etc
Excellent numerical & interpretation skills with experience of providing financial advice on high impacting business, accounting or control requirements
Good commercially judgment with a thorough understanding of the broader business impact of decisions
Excellent understanding of budgeting process (experience of managing a departmental or large project budget)
Excellent planning & organizing skills with experience of determining & setting direction and priorities for others
